Post-ECT Fever, Again

Out on PubMed, from clinicians in India, in JECT, is this case report:

Post-Electroconvulsive Therapy Hyperthermia: A Case Report.

Arora P, Nagpal S, Tewari A, Jose NA, Mahla VP, Tripathi A, Gupta P, Siwatch A, Ogha A.J ECT. 2021 Jul 21. doi: 10.1097/YCT.0000000000000784. Online ahead of print.PMID: 34294650
This is an earnestly presented case report that adds to the small literature on idiopathic fever after ECT. Of course, the most important message remains that of the need for diligent search for an infectious cause first. Failing that, the anesthetic agent itself can be suspected, then, as JFK famously said,"the other things."
For students of ECT anesthesia, this case is worth a careful read, ~7 minutes.
