This editorial gives a clear message of the benefits of ECT in the geriatric population, based on the long-term data reported recently from the MODECT study.

Drs. McClintock and Abbott also discuss opportunities to refine ECT technique, based on their particular research interests in electric field modeling and stimulus amplitude manipulation.
