Zuranolone for Postpartum Depression

Out on PubMed, in a search for "Electroconvulsive" is this citation:

I do not have access to this article, but we know it at least mentions ECT. It is good to learn about these new pharmacological treatments for postpartum depression (brexanolone as well) and hopefully they will be very useful additions to current treatment options.
What should not happen is the knee-jerk reaction that ECT is no longer needed. Severe postpartrum depression and postpartum psychosis are among the indications for which ECT can be lifesaving (for both mother and child). Let's hope these new additions are not accompanied by the subtraction of ECT when needed and appropriate...
If anyone has access to the full article and would like to share the ECT bits, that would be much appreciated.

  1. This is what the article said about ECT, "Electroconvulsive therapy has been reported to be rapidly effective for treatment of refractory PPD." Seems reasonable.
